Is this still normal?

OK. Made through first week of work and crashed all weekend. Soooo tired. Still tired and sore, but not as bad.
I'm 7 weeks out now.
Anyone think I should be concerned, or does this sound typical...or something close to typical.

Re: Is this still normal?

Everyone recovers at different rates, I would say that it sounds pretty normal to *me*. I'm due to go back to work in 2 weeks, which will be 4 weeks from my LSH/RSO and 6 weeks from my first surgery for my incarcerated right ovary. I work in the OR and spend the majority of my day standing during surgery, so I'm honestly not thinking that I'm going to do very well.

What type of work do you do? I think the type of work really makes a difference on how going back effects you.

Re: Is this still normal?

Sounds very normal to me. I'm getting my energy back more and more each day/week but I'm still more tired than usual. I also get a little achey in my lower back by the end of the day. All in all though, I feel great.

Re: Is this still normal?

Sounds normal. I had a TAH/BSO, was off for 8 1/2 weeks, and still got tired once I went back to work. It maybe lasted a week or two and then I was ok. I think it also has to do with, staying home and taking it easy our bodies need to adjust to all the movement and just being on our feet again. Rest when you can.

Re: Is this still normal?

I went back to work after 6 weeks and barely made it through the first week at a desk job. I was going to bed around 7:30pm every evening.

The second week back to work was easier, but I still got tired pretty quickly.

I'm almost 3 months out now & nearly feel completely normal. I still get the swelly belly when I least expect it - just when I'm feeling great & trying to do a little too much.

It will all get better with time!

Re: Is this still normal?

I'm just over 6 weeks post-op and went back to work for the first full day today. I was pretty tired at work but I feel OK now. However, I foresee a lot of sleep in my weekend future!

I'm sure it's normal. From what I read in reply to your post and others I've read, this tiredness can hang on for a while!

Here's to us getting our energy back soon!

Re: Is this still normal?

Hi Lady,

I wouldn't be too concerned about this, right now. It's only been a week and your body has to get use to being back at work. I would suggest a multi vitamin if you aren't currently taking any. Take it slow, rest when you can, and soon, very soon, it will all ease up.

Take care for now!
