Weight loss

I have lost a lot weight since the surgery. I kept my ovaries and have been eating more than I noramlly do and of course a far less active, so I cannot figure out why I lost so much weight?

Has this happened to anyone here?

Re: Weight loss

No, I've gained a little (mostly Easter ) -- did you have big fibroids? I've heard others posting they lost weight once large fibroids were removed.

Re: Weight loss

I lost a little but I had almost no appetite the first few weeks. You may want to check with your doc and have your thyroid tested.

Re: Weight loss

I've lost 8 lbs since my surgery a week ago, but I'm sure that's because I really have no appetite. I'm drinking tons of water to help with going to the bathroom. If nothing else it's a nice thing to see the scale go down but I'm sure it will creep back up when I start eating normal again. Too bad...lol. If you're eating a lot maybe check with your doctor like London 2013 said.

Yes, very large fibroids. Four very large and ten in total.

Re: Weight loss

I've lost 8 pounds as of 3 weeks ago. I'm hoping to have lost a few more pounds by my appointment next week.

Re: Weight loss

I did not have fibroids, so after 5 months of bleeding the pill did not work anymore so had to have the hysterectomy. My dr. assumed I had adnomyosis and this was conclusive after they biopsied the removed uterus. I think I just eat out of boredom but all those cheezits and candies people send are adding up. I normally don't eat like that so will have to just start watching my weight....and no more wine I'm sure!
