Congradulation Rachelle....
I am so happy for you. I know it has been a long struggle. It is sad that we are happy about this at our age.I am so tired of the pain. (I'm 27) let me know how your journey to be crowned goes,as I like knowing there are others my age going thru the same things.
wish you well

I am Lost
I'm keeping you all in my prayers! I'm 37 now, but had my first bout with endometriosis when I was in my 20s so I know exactly how you feel!
About the doctors being hesitant: I know it seems cruel -- and it certainly feels that way!! -- but doctors these days really have to be careful about documenting the need for surgeries and the patient's understanding and willingness to accept what needs to be done. I really don't think it's that they don't want to help -- it's more of a fear of lawsuits and such.
I read somewhere that OB-GYNs are fleeing the specialty in large numbers because of the number of frivolous lawsuits. If a baby doesn't come out perfectly, lawyers encourage the family to blame the doctor. Also, women of child-bearing age have also been encouraged to sue the doctors who performed hysterectomies. The women claimed they weren't totally informed and their reproductive rights were taken from them.
Because of all of this, I can understand a doctor's hesitancy to perform a hysterectomy on a woman in her 20s. They want to make sure the woman is 100 percent in favor of it, that she has exhausted every other treatment and that she is absolutely ready and 100 percent willing to give full and informed consent.
I'm so glad your doctor has agreed and relief will be coming soon! I'll be sending prayers your way!! :cheer:

I am Lost
I am 25 (2 kids)and just had a TVH kept my ovaries and tubes. I am so happy you found a DR to do the surgery, and the your insurance company. My Dr was hesitant at first due to my age- but after my mom came in and told him of all the cancer in my family and backed me on the fact I didn't want anymore kids. He was happy to do it! I didn't want to be in anymore pain or risk the cancer.
