just a little tear

I also wanted to know if anyone has had the problem with an abdominal incision opening up? My staples were removed two days post op and by the third day The incision had opened up about a third of the way and was bleeding like I had been stabbed, but thanks to alot of percodan I didn't feel a thing! I just thought I was sweating alot until I looked in the mirror. It took another six stitches with the strongest thread they had to fix it. What is the average time staples are left in? My doc still swears by the time he gave them to heal.

My staples were taken out 10 days post op. Fortunately, I haven't had any problems.

After my last surgery I started bleeding like that a few days after surgery - I thought my stitches had come loose and it was bleeding like crazy, but my Dr said it was clots in my incision. My DH had to use a syringe to clean it everyday - Ouch! My TAH is November 21 and I'm hoping that doesn't happen again.

my staples were taken out on day 6 and 7. My wound burst when I was 2 1/2 weeks post op. I've had the district nurse in since then to do the dressing and it's almost 3 months since op. It hasn't been painful ,just a nuisance.
