Wow, Pre op done and I've gone from anxious to giddy!

I was so anxious this morning for Pre op I thought was going to vomit. Now I can't wait for tomorrow, everyone put me at ease.

First went to the hospital for registration, blood work and EKG because my dr had an emergency c-section and had to move me out an hour.

The lady checking me in, once realized what I was there for, gave me a card for a dr who only does menopause management and said if I had any problems whatsoever with menopause call her. That alone gave me a HUGE sense of relief.

Then when I met with my Dr he answered all my questions and explained why I should remove my ovaries. He said if I didn't want to then he highly recommended yeary ultrasounds to check for ovarian cancer but that they aren't perfect for spotting ovarian cancer. He explained why I am at increased risk too. I am on board with it and finally feel some peace about the bso.

Then I asked about ERT and he likes oral best and told me why so I said I would try that.

Next I asked about stairs, he said take them slow.
Driving - as soon as I want to
Lifting - 4 weeks
Working out - 4 weeks
Sex - 8 weeks
Swimming and tub baths - 4 weeks

I will be taken back at 7:30 and put under, takes them 30 minutes to set up, 30 minutes for the proceedure, 30 minutes disassemble. 1 hour in recovery. Then to my room. As soon as I can pee I'll be discharged. He said ths is usually about 3-4 hours after getting to my room. He said my only pain should be pressure and cramping.

I think I know why he has such high success rates. We asked him lots of questions about the robot and he told us how it is different than other methods and why there is less pain. He also is a dr who goes around the country teaching other doctors how to do this. Our hospital had the second ever da Vinci sold and he's been using it since the beginning. It's possible he's done more surgeries with the robot than anyone.

Needless to say I m so much relieved! I think I might actually get to sleep tonight.

I have a pink band I'm wearing already. I have the special wash to shower with tomorrow. No bowl prep. And they don't care about toenail polish (no fingernail). And no shaving tomorrow am. No lotions or deodorant. And that's it!
