Is this back pain normal???

Hi! I'm new to this and have a question. I just had a TVH on July 25th and my back is killing me. I had a lot of back pain about 3 out of 4 weeks each month for about the last year. I had cysts on both ovaries, prolapse uterus, a hernia and the doctor thought that I might have endometreosis. I did not have endo. and he drained the cysts and thought that my ovaries looked fine. I'm a little discouraged because I still have so much back pain. Is this back pain normal in the healing process. Other than the back pain, everything is going great! Thanks for any help you can give me.

Is this back pain normal???

My sciatic started hurting REALLY bad last August. Out of the blue. Since surgery, it has calmed down tremendously but not right away. It took a couple of weeks to settle down.

I hope you feel better! Hugs to you.

Is this back pain normal???

What kind of back pain are you having? I had severe back cramps/spasms a couple of days out from surgery where all my muscles seemed to want to twist and spasm until I was in tears. I took heavy doses of ibuprofen which helped, and put Icy Hot on my back, and iced it. Those were quick relievers. Then I started taking calcium pills, and the incidence of pain has dropped TREMENDOUSLY!

Good luck to you with this, I know how painful and sleep disruptive it can be! Tell us what works for you!

Is this back pain normal???

I am four months out and also still having back pain. Not continous but when I over due things. I am ok with normal daily routein but when I bend to much or try to work in my yard, cut grass, rake, week the flower beds, I suffer. Pain basically is low back and where my uterus was. I had a really enlarged uterus and Dr. said that he had a horrible time taking it out vaginaly. I am wondering if this is why I am still having problems. I feel so good otherwise. Prior to my surgery I had back pain for a year but it was all totally different pain than this. The surgery took care of the pain which included siatica and pain down my right leg. Turns out that the uterus was so large it was pressing against my siatica nerve. I had instant relief from that but now there is stress pain where the ueterus was.
I know I am not alone , sounds like there are so many of us with low back pain and truthfully, I am feeling relief from all of the posts here.
Please if anyone is 4 months out and having this pain, post here...I think we all need the reassurance that it will subside.

back pain

First I'd like to say Thank you for all the information I was pretty blind as to what I was in for.
I had a LAVH on August 1st came home the next day and had a lot of back pain but I pretty much laid on a heating pad for the first 3-4 days and it gave alot of relief to me I was especially panicking after reading some of the posts here about having pain for years I guess I have been very lucky not to have too much pain. I try not to take prescription painkillers except the first day and I have survived on Tylenol extra strength.
My point here is the heating pad really worked for me and maybe letting you know maybe it can help some of you I almost feel guilty I've been very fortunate so far as not having much pain
Good luck to all of you and Thank you for all the information and support
