My last visit from the monthly flo fairy

I have my surgery scheduled for July 17th. I ran out of birth control and decided to just have one more period before I never have another one again. My hystorectomy is due to AdenoCarcinoma so I don't have pain with my cycle. I have to say I have never loved having a period so much in my life. Though it is one of the side benefits of having this surgery I am kinda mourning this one last time.

Just kinda curoius is anyone else feels this way.

Re: My last visit from the monthly flo fairy

I thought I was going to feel like this (have it currently) but I'm in SO much **** pain I'll be happy to see them go forever! However... it was a 30 day cycle this time and 28-30 days brings right on target for my op- so I 'may' get initial pain or period right in the middle of my op. Oh the joys....

But yes... not enjoying in any way (too painful) but celebrating its potential last visit.

My surgery isn't until the 9th of August. But that's less than a month so I'm pretty happy about that!

Re: My last visit from the monthly flo fairy

I cannot say that I mourn not having a period anymore, but even though I knew I did not want any more children (I have a 22, and 13 year old), I definitely mourned the fact that now this option was being taken away. I pray for all the women who will not be able to have their own children. I too was diagnosed with AIS. Fortunately with all the prayers everything went well. I am cancer free!! My Hysterectomy pathology report showed no sign of invasive cancer! I will just be monitored for the next three years, to ensure AIS does not try to return. I am so thankful I had such wonderful doctors who took good care of me and caught things early.

Jennslater and katakacpk, I wish both of you the best with your upcoming surgeries and will keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers. katakacpk, I pray you will find pain relief soon.

Re: My last visit from the monthly flo fairy

After reading your post I started thinking...

Even though my periods are VERY annoying and painful at times, I still remember the first time I gotten it. It was like a BIG day for me lol. Now it will be gone. My last is actually due today (late again.. see annoying).
I am sure it will be weird at first not ever having it "show up" again but I will get use to it quickly.

I feel it is the closing of one chapter.. now on to the next.
