Anyone back to running - 8weeks post op?

Hi there
I am 8 weeks post op and I used to run but sadly due to adenomyosis etc it stopped me running a year ago as it was too uncomfortable with such a huge uterus!!!

I have started back at the gym (I had an LAVH) with lower weights than usual and am actually starting a Biggest Transformation Challenge on Saturday. It will Help me get back to fitness and sort out my nutrition. I have no restrictions now from my specialist.

I need to do a running fit test. (I can walk if I have too I guess).

Has anyone else started running again and if so how are you going? Are you feeling ok afterwards.

I did a trial run today on the treadmill for 20mins and alternating running and walking. I guess I was just worried that something was going to fall out of "you know where". Nothing did of course and I feel fine - altho I'm tired.

Would be great to hear from anyone that is getting back into exercise or anyone that had passed this stage and is back to their normal routines and how you are feeling.

Thank you 😄

I also used to run 2 months prior to my surgery. I have been walking lots and increasing the mileage and intensity of my walks. I feel like I can just about start running again, but really slowly at first. Take it easy at first and don't push too hard. Most importantly, listen to your body and stop if it hurts or doesn't feel right. All the best.

Re: Anyone back to running - 8weeks post op?

I am not a runner, but do a very high intensity water aerobics class 3-4 times per week. Lots of jumping and impact on the bottom of the pool. I was allowed to resume this exercise at 9 weeks. First few times out my abdomen was pretty sore after class, but after those first few times I was fine. It felt so good to get back to exercising!
