Allergic to Tape

Hi,

I can certainly empathize. I'm allergic to band-aids, they cause hugh blisters and just peel the skin off if on for even just a few minutes.

When I had my surgery, I told the admission nurse about my allergy. But even though she wrote it in big red letters on the front of my chart, every time a nurse came into my room to take blood or restart my IV, she had a band-aid ready to slap on me. I was very groggy after surgery from the anesthesia, pain and anti- medication, but I somehow managed to pry one eye open each time and stop them before it was too late.

Next time, I'm going to have "NO BAND-AIDS" tatooed to my forehead!

Hope you're feeling better soon!

s,

Lisa

Allergic to Tape

I m allergic to the tape and here in the UK they give you a red wrist band to wear during your admission stating the name of the product/drugs you are allergic to so that any doctor or nurse checks it before giving you anything. Great idea.
