Taking A Trip 5-6 Weeks Post Op?!?!

I went to Key West at the end of week 4 and I was fine, I was even cleared for swimming but the snorkeling DID wipe me out, needed a nap when I got back to my hotel. The only thing I'd do differently is NOT wear jeans on the plane, I was pretty sore when we got there. I also made sure I got to bed at a decent hour each night and drank lots of water (along with all those mango daquiris!)

Rest when you're tired and you should be fine. That being said everyone is different. I had a TAH/BSO with a vertical incision but NO complications and for the three weeks leading up to my trip I was a very good girl and did almost NOTHING.

One other thing though, don't think that if you feel great on vacation that you'll sail back to work. Work is totally different so remember to keep listening to what your body says even after going back to the grind.

Have a great time! And try the Sterling Brunch on Sunday at Bally's

Taking A Trip 5-6 Weeks Post Op?!?!

I guess I'm just scared after reading some of the post op stories that I'm not going to be able to make it. I guess each indivudual person is different. It's just I've been planning this trip so long, but also don't want to put the surgery off any longer because of the pain. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

Taking A Trip 5-6 Weeks Post Op?!?!

I too am worried as I have a 10 hour car trip to the Grand Canyon planned for exactly 6 weeks post-op. Plus, I am camping!! I know that dh will be doing alot, but I know I will be driving some and helping at the campground. I just worry about the transisition from lifting basically nothing to gradually lifting heavier things.
