Bleeding 11 days Post-op ?

Hello my Sisters i had a TAH on 3/21/ and just wondered, i had absolutely NO bleeding afterward, now the last 2 days have been spotting bright red ! I go to see my Dr. first thing tomorrow AM - just wondered if anyone else had this happen ? Im not sure if i maybe pulled a epesiotimy repair stitch or possibly a vaginal cuff stitch, Can anyone tell me what they will do if its the latter of the two ??
Thanks and

Hugs & Chocolates to all my sisters !

Bleeding 11 days Post-op ?

Hi - I started spotting one week post op. I called my doctor and he thought I might have pulled on one of the stitches in my cuff during a BM. He put me on total bed rest for 2 days to heal it. I was still bleeding after the 2 days so I called him again. He said if it didn't heal he was pretty sure it was just normal post op discharge; he asked me to "get a little active" to see if it got worse. If it didn't get worse it was surely normal discharge - if it did get worse he wanted to see me. Long story short --- it didn't get worse, so it was normal discharge -- it just started earlier than average.

My doc said bleeding doesn't normally start until the second week so you're not that far off his average. If the bleeding gets worse and / or is more than a pantiliner full I would call your doctor asap. Since you have an appt tomorrow just make sure to bring it up - your doc should be able to do a visual inspection to see if the cuff is healing properly.

Try not to worry - I was worried sick and it turned out to be totally normal.

Bleeding 11 days Post-op ?

Hi butterfly_kiss
I did pretty much the same as you are now. I had a tiny bit the first day or so and then nothing until almost two weeks. My dr said similar to what (((JoAnn's))) dr said. Around two weeks many women begin to have some bleeding because the stitches are starting to dissolve.

From that point on I had various degrees of light to bright red to really dark reddish brown discharge. It seems to be the process our bodies go through to heal and cleanse everything until those tissues are back to normal. Be sure to mention it tomorrow, but as long as you aren't feeling unwell, it's probably normal. If you feel "not right", unwell, with increased pain, then you should call your dr right away. Let us know what you find out.
's, Rita

Bleeding 11 days Post-op ?

I started to spot yesterday and then it just stopped so I don't know if its the stitches disvolving or not. It was just light red spotting. Nothing major and I pretty much just laid on the couch all day. I am 15 days post op.
