2wks post-op...left ovary pain?

I have had a good recovery from my tvh (kept ovaries), except for some pain on my left side that has been hanging around for several days to a week? It's predominantly where I think my left ovary is...just inside the hip bone. Sometimes it's accompanied by pain that wraps around the left ribcage...kind of like the pain you get when you run too much and get a "stitch" in your side, also, sometimes back pain. I've been treating it with IBprofen and the heating pad. Anyone else have some light to shed on this from personal experience or? I've been dismissing it as just post-op body confusion....Thanks ladies...

I'd like to encourage you to call your doctor about this pain. You're still rather close to your surgery date and 1) your doc will probably want to keep track of symptoms like these and 2) they may very well be able to give you some insight as to how you could manage (or get rid of!) this pain.

Sometimes a quick call to the doctor is all it takes to be on the mend again. Don't forget to . WIll you let us know what your doctor says?

Hi Susan, had SAH on Feb. 2nd. I too am experiencing some pain near my right ovarie. Its like a severe burning sensation that comes and goes. Usually, its when i start walking around. My lower back was sooo sore after surgery. My DH actually went out and bought one of those massagers you put on a chair. That has felt soooo good. If your too uncomfortable, I would call your dr. and find out. Good luck with your continued recovery, my prayers are with you!
