Just how long will the vertical incision be?

I'm scheduled for a TAH/BSO in a few weeks. At first I thought the incision would be from my belly button down. Now I'm reading stuff here that it will be about 3-4 inches above my belly button to my bikini line. I have adhesions, endometriosis, a large uterus and fibroids....yuck.

I think that the size of the incision is usually determined by what all needs to be done. Maybe you should call and ask your dr what to expect. I had a tah/bso with a bikini line incision that was about 6 or 7 inches long.

I'm getting a vertical incision also. (TAH next week Jul 26). I asked about how big it would be. He said it would start at my pelvic bone and go to just under my belly button.

I'd imagine it depends on the situation. I have a large ovarian mass that needs to come out. He's doing the vert cut in case it is malignant and more organs need to be biopsied.
