Back from 6wk post-op checkup (OUCHY)
Ok I've dreaded this somewhat as I knew my gyno was gonna get in there and "go to town" so to speak. Me suggesting she look at my vaginal cuff through a pair of binoculars from the other side of the room wasn't considered. No, she went in, dug around and PUSHED on my vaginal cuff while pushing down on my abdominal incision on the outside. Guess she's testing to see how TOUGH it is? Yikes! Needless to say, I was standing on my head when she was finished. It wasn't pain, just PRESSURE. She cleared me for everything but sex (still 2 more wks), saying that I'm just not quite there yet. I have a hole? the size of a pencil eraser that hasn't healed up yet in my epitheleum? Whatever in the heck that is, I didn't ask. All I wanted to know was if I could have a tub bath. I was quite achy when I left there and had to take a 800mg Motrin, buy 2 pairs of shoes, 3 lipsticks and a purse. Now I'm feeling much better.

Wow! All I got was about 5 seconds and done. Might as well have used binoculars across the room! It was his birthday, however, so I don't think his mind was on doctoring that day.
I'm sorry you had such a rough exam. I hope the new lipsticks and shoes (and bath?) will help you forget the trauma. Take care.

Hi there,
My doc also said she would do a much more thorough exam including really pushing and stuff on the cuff at six weeks. I would rather her do it and if something happens, be there in the office, then dh do it and be in bed! LOL!!!!
Do you have to see her in 2 weeks to get cleared for sex or you can just start in 2 more weeks?

YES, I get a tub bath, awwww, that will be nice.
YES, I have to go back in 2 more weeks. I'm thinking she'll do the pushing and tugging again? YIKES! I'll have to do more shopping to feel better afterwards I'm sure, ha.
About the tub bath, I thought the holdup was due to my internal stitches and not wanting to get anything in there that might infect me. But she said "sure, you can have a bath, your abdominal incision looks just great". Darn, it looked great weeks ago, I probably could've had a bath then. I never thought to ask.

Hopefully the follow-up in 2 weeks will be focused only on the hole in the epethelium (???), and will be less invasive.
LOL on the shoes, lipsticks and purse. Yep, Motrin helps with the pain, the but rest are for the soul!
