Douche

I had my TVH yesterday (10/22), was released home today. My doctor told me she wanted me to mix iodine and warm water in a peri bottle and put it just to the opening, but not in. She said to just squeeze it with force to get some of the mixture inside. I have never used any douche before, and I'm clueless. Going to call her tomorrow when I have all my thoughts together.

That's interesting. I was given a peri bottle and told to fill it with warm water and rinse the outside after using the bathroom. I did that for four weeks until the spotting stopped. I was told nothing in the vagina whatsoever so this is curious.

The nurse got me to rinse outside only the night after surgery and it was only to clean off iodine etc. I was told nothing in the vagina for 6-8 weeks (until my check up)

I have read about that treatment before. Certainly ask your doctor about if if you are unsure, but it is not too unusual. In general douching is not recommended, but under certain circumstances (like when your doctor tells you to) it is what you should do.
