constipation and bloating 5 weeks post hysterectomy

Hi everyone I had a lap hysterectomy but kept ovaries five weeks ago today and I am so bloated and constipated. Previous to surgery I used to go two or three times a day so I am really feeling the bloat. It makes it quite uncomfortable to sit sometimes. I have been taking stool softners everyday but no help. Has anyone else had this?

At 5 weeks that is concerning. I think you should call your DR. I had constipation first week or two but once I dialed back on pain meds it got better. I would call. Good luck!

Watch your diet and incorporate more fruits and veggies and water . Im at 12 wks and every morning have raisin bran or cheerios, if I eat eggs, that stops things up and lotsa walking and juices help. Even snacking on a handful of dried fruit, helps. Dollar Tree carries some.
