4 week post-op pain

I am having pains on my right side and also at the top of my pelvic area (probably where the cuff is). Has any one else experienced this? I had a tvh with both ovaries removed due to severe endometriosis, polyps and cysts. I still remain very tired and I am due to go back to work on June 1. I am not sure if I should call the doctor about these pains or if this is just a normal part of the healing process.

4 week post-op pain

Hi Rvandy65,

When I was 4 weeks post-op, I still experienced some mild pains and aching and fatigued very easily. It's important to remember that the initial recovery period is generally accepted to be around 6 weeks.

What you are experiencing may very well be normal. But...I always think it's a good idea to discuss these issues with your Dr. to be on the safe side.

Please continue to take things easy and pamper the Princess . It's important to your recovery to listen to your body and allow yourself the time you need to heal.

Best wishes and hugs!

4 week post-op pain

This surgery takes approximately 1 yr. to recovery, so you are still early in your recovery. The major healing should only take around 6 weeks, some of us take longer while others not so long. Going from experience you can expect weird pains, etc. for a months. Just rest and take a easy, and if it concerns you or it gets worse call your Dr. Take care and ((HUGS))

4 week post-op pain

I am also really tired. Some days are worse than others. While it's frustrating, I'm trying to use this time at home to rest whenever my body needs it. I return to work on the 5th and wonder if I'll have the energy to make it through a full day. Hang in there and here's hoping we feel stronger each day!

4 week post-op pain

My week four was worse than week 1, 2 or 3. I also had very sharp pains in my right side (where I lost my second ovary, plus uterus, at my most recent surgery). I didn't experience this with my first surgery three months prior (removed my left ovary).

I was really taking it easy in general, but I was walking more; up to an hour around the neighborhood.

I'm now in week five and I feel good.

Ask your doctor, but I think you're okay.
