Questions about hyst (childbirth mentioned)

I do not know if this is the right post, but I was wondering what poistion I will be in for my hysterectomy. I know I am also having a cesarean section I know what position for that. I was just wondering if my legs would be up in the air for the hysterectomy, and if my feet would be in stirrups? Are the stirrups the same as the ones in the office? Should I wear booties. I know where the doctor will be standing for the c-section, I was just wondering if my legs are in the air if she will be working between my legs, like a pap smear, or like she would be in the office? Will I be wearing a gown or completely naked? Will I be covered up? Can I wear my under pants until I go into the operating room, I am scared I might bleed, or have to use the bathroom? Will I be tied down to the table? Again my doctor will not give me any information, I like to know what is going to happen to me since I am going through all this.

Hi! Congratulations on the baby! I had a TAH/BSO in Sept 06, when you get to the hospital you will need to put a gown on without any underpants. They will also put booties on you but you will not be awake or know the position that your body is in on the operating table. I don't remember being wheeled in to the OR or even being in recovery. If you are in pre-op and have to go to the bathroom you can go and don't worry if you are bleeding they are use to everything! Hang in there!
