beach vacation 4 weeks post op

My doctor said I can take my vacation 25 days post op as long as my incision has healed and I relax only!! Going with my family to St. Thomas just laying on beach and relaxing. Will not go if have any complications but was wondering if anyone kows how well our incisions will heal at this point or ways of speeding healing. My doctor recommended vitamin C. Any other recommendations out there?

A beach vacation at 4 weeks postop sounds absolutely divine...as long as you just rest and relax and don't do anything too strenuous.

As far as speeding up your healing, follow your doctor's advice. When you come home for the Castle, make sure you rest and drink lots of fluids, and have a healthy diet.

Just wanted to let you know, I'm having my surgery the same day you are and you are the second person with the same date. I think is great to know there will be a few of us together going thru it. I asked my dr if I could go on vacation around 4 to 6 weeks after and she told me it will be ok, but to make sure some one else is carrying the suitcases. I'm sure your family will be carrying yours, so if you feel ok to go I think it will be great for you to go and enjoy yourself, just make sure you ask your dr if you should stay away from the ocean, pool, spas, etc. I'm taking vitamin C and Zinc to speed up my healing and I have heard that once your scar starts to heal you can use vitamin E oil on it. On 5/13 I going to see the plastic surgeon that is doing my tummy tuck (same time as hyst) and I will asked him exactly what is good to put on it.
