Granny cotton underwear for post-op

Hope I didn't offend anyone with the subject line. However, I have a dilemma. I am searching for all cotton underwear in plus size for post-op. I have a latex allergy and can't wear any thing with elastic in the legs. I have been wearing boy short style underwear but these are cut too low if the incision is vertical from the belly button. The doctor isn't sure at this point if she will do a vertical or horizontal. Any suggestions?

Thanks bunches,
Crystal

hi there
I wear granny underwear all the time but when I had surgery I found that I could not bear anything touching the staples( I had a TAH) so wore nightgowns with nothing underneath. I did not have any spotting and so it worked out. Once the staples were out I wore underwear but had to have a tank top tucked in side so the elastic did not bother the incision or the seam in my PJ bottoms. This worked fine until the incision was healed more. The one thing they did in the hospital was put some disposable underwear on after the surgery and they drove me nuts. All poylester so maybe keep this in mind. As for the other type of incison I cant comment . all the best and take care.

I don't know what they're made of, but I wore the mesh underwear provided by the hospital, after going out and buying panties. They are sort of cut like boy shorts, but they are WAY s-t-r-e-t-c-h-y, and will come up well above your belly button. I actually asked the hospital for a couple of extra pair.

I haven't worn regular panties since the surgery, but yesterday tried some with a support panel that helped tremendously with the swelly belly. My sister says these come in 100% cotton, but mine are a blend.

The best advice I got on this subject was: Go commando! I didn't wear any underwear, only my gown for about 2 weeks and it was the best option available! It feels the best and makes it easier to get comfortable. Don't worry about being embarrassed, you won't care!

I found my bloomers Actually, found some granny briefs with the elastic in an enclosed casing. They even came in prints.

My two cents - while in the hospital I wore nothing but a night gown - made it easier to potty

When I got home I wore a granny panty with light support - helped keep my tummy from jiggling when I moved. I had a TAH with staples and to be honest, until the staples come out - nothing feels good.

Good luck!
