Strep-B bladder infection

Hi all, urine culture from Monday was positive for strep-b (?). First GP tried to call in penicillin. I'm allergic. So then he called in Zithromax. Took first dose yesterday - no relief at all, even w/peridium.

Anyone have one of these? What worked?

I had UTIs in college frequently and remember that the right med would take effect almost immediately. This stuff has done nothing

I would call the doc back and tell him its not working but isnt zithromax the three or five day antibiotic and it stays in your system for 10 days? If so I took that before and it didn't kick in till the 2nd day. My husband takes it too and it takes a couple of days for him also. Good luck.
