pre op blood work ?

Hope everyone is doing well! Wow my surgery is less than 2 weeks! hard to believe how fast this is going! next week will fly because of the thanksgiving holiday. Monday I go to get my pre op blood work. the dr said it had to be done 7-10 days prior. I have a soemwhat irrational fear, and i think its only because my family has been so very helpful and supportive and many people have rearranged there schdules for me. I have a history of animea. I have been takeing my iron and multi vit daily as im suppose to and am feeling decent enough. I just finished up an antibiotic. How long will it take for the results of the blood work to come back? im so afraid something will come back and they say they have to reschdule.

I'm not sure how long it will take for results... but I have heard the appearance of the inside of your lower eyelid can sometimes be a good indicator of how much iron you have in your blood. Bright red is healthy and pale almost white can mean anemia.

I think it should be fine if you have been taking your vitamins.

Don't worry about the blood work. It is procedure and if your blood count is low they need to know.Women have had surgery with high BP, sugar diabetes. t didn't stop the surgery. The anesthesiologist needs to know these things to make sure you receive the right meds. My blood count was low and it didn't stop my dr. from doing the procedure. You'll be fine.
