TAH Morning Pain - 12 Days Post Op Hysterectomy

I have horrible morning pain above my incision in the mornings. I dont know if its because the pain medication has worn off and it's just normal, or if something is wrong. It feels like something is burning above the right side of my incision....nearly keeping me doubled over until pain meds kick in. Then for the remainder of the day, I am fine for the most part....until the next morning. When I urinate for the first time in the morning, it feels as if emptying my bladder makes it worse. Very emotional.... any thoughts? Thanks!

Do you have a two week check up already scheduled? Definitely bring it up. My guess is you just have been without any narcotics or pain medicine for too many hours during the night. Although if it gets worse go in right away, post op infections are nothing to mess around with.

I told my doctor at my 6 week check up I still had incision pain and she said it was normal. She also said it is more like a 3-6 month recovery, 6 weeks is just the initial recovery and when they look for complications.

Im a little like you guys. Im in my 6th starting my 7th week recovery. I had right groin pain for awhile then that has started to let up now but now I have pain on my left side above my incision. I too am not too sure why exactly. At first I thought maby my intestine. But I dont think that because my bowels are good and finally regulated. I also stil kinda have that weird bladder sensation alltho thats starting to
ease up a little. I have those little prickly sensations also over my belly and still numb right above and center all around the incision area. Which is normal. Im hope the pain I have is also normal on the left side. Iv only had it for a few days now. It dif come a week or so back but then went away. But now its back. Weird. So not too sure. But I completely agree with the lady who mentioned it really is a 3 to 6 month and iv heard even a yr recovery. So I guess we just gota be paitent with ourselves. I tend to worry also and get a little down. Because im ready to get out and just go and do but be pain free. I have fibro as well so im used to suffering witj pain anyway. Maby someday we will be pain free and get back to enjoying life! Best wishes to yalls recovery. Im here in the big state of TX. Its getn hot now!!!
