1 week post hysterectomy - sharp pain
I am 1 week post op from a partial hysterectomy, uterus and fallopian tubes, leaving cervix and ovaries in tact. I was doing well, but I now have a sharp tugging pain in my right groin that increases with walking. No increase in swelling. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: 1 week post hysterectomy - sharp pain
You're still very early in your recovery at one week. I also had a partial, with the cervix, tubes and ovaries remaining. For the first week I remained on narcotics, then the prescription ibuprofen for the 2nd week and part of the 3rd.
It's likely that the tugging pain is from surgery, especially if you feel it more with walking. We all have many internal incisions from surgery - even if we had less removed, things still had to be cut free. Continue resting more than doing things, recline and use ice if needed and it should lessen. Keep in mind your post-op restrictions, too (no bending, pushing-pulling, lifting more than 10#). After my first week I'd walk around the block, but would keep a travel pillow on my tummy. Whenever I bumped up my distance or time I walked, I'd feel more twinges, letting me know to rest.
If the pain becomes intense (a 6 on a scale of 0-10) you can always place a call into your doctor's office. You're still their patient, and they'll know the right questions to ask.
Rest well!
