NO fibroids.. now what?????

I am not even sure this belongs in this section.. I guess it will get moved where it does if not.. but.. Friday I ended up in the emergency room.. clots and heavy bleeding turned into outright hemmoraging (sp) and Dr sent me there immediately.. had to cancel the ultrasounds I had been scheduled for elsewhere and they did them at the hospital, sent them right to the Dr on call for mine (she was on vacation this week) and you could have knocked me over with a whisper when they told me.. there were no fibroids in my grossly enlarged uterus.. nothing.. not a speck. I had myself all psyched up for it being fibroids.. my Dr was sure it was.. now what?? What else can possibly enlarge a uterus to this point? They put me on medroxyprogesterone.. I think that's what it is.. twice a day to stop the bleeding. It had already started slowing a bit before we even left the hospital but still going on, had a few clots, one rather large one, but nothing on the scale it was yesterday. I hate the progesterone.. the side effects suck and along with the fact that I am prone to hormonally induced migraines, I have almost decided the bleeding half to death yesterday was better than the headaches. I had felt like I had some light at the end of this tunnel.. now I have been shoved right back out again and can't even see inside!!!

NO fibroids.. now what?????

WOW! I think adeno can cause an enlarged uterus and also bleeding. Are they going to do a hystroscopy to go in and actually see what's going on in there?

NO FIBROIDS..... now what?

Before my surgery I had a CT that suggested fibroids and the DR told me after an exam that this wasn't the most accurate test for fibroids. (my family DR had ordered it) I then had a pelvic US and an MRI which suggested adenomyosis. However, this condition isn't 100% diagnosed until the surgery is completed. It ended up that both were present along with endo, adhesions etc... So I guess what I am saying is be persistent, you know what your symptoms are and how you feel. There are other things that could be going on other than fibroids. My uterus was enlarged also. Take Care elizza

NO fibroids.. now what?????

I have an appt on the 7th which was originally scheduled for a biopsy after she got a look at the ultrasound.. I am assuming she will still do the biopsy and we will just have to discuss other alternatives to what it could be. I just had myself so set on it being something *simple* like fibroids and now I don't know what to think. When you put *enlarged uterus* into a search engine and ignore all the references to *fibroids*.. I didn't like what I was finding. Too many references to uterine cancer and now I am just freaked out and scared even more. The medroxyprogesterone I am not sure about.. the bleeding is much less than it was yesterday but I have still had a few huge clots today and still bleeding. Just not in the alarming amounts. I probably just need to stay off the computer awhile, lol.. way too much information and it's overwhelming me.

You are right, your DR. may still do the biopsy. Mine did. It's good that you have an appt. scheduled. I honestly know how you feel as far as getting all freaked out over the information you get on the computer. I did the same thing. My family finally told me to try and stay away from it for awhile, just get my information from my DR. That's what I did. Of course, I had not found this site until after my surgery and it has been extremely helpful. So, stick with it sisterand I know it will all work out for you! elizza
