So Sleepy...

I get up at 6:30 and by 8 I am so ready to take a nap. Is there something wrong that I need to call the doctor or is this just part of the recovery process? I am 4 1/2 weeks post op. I am so tired of being tired.

So Sleepy...

All normal. Weeks 3-5 were the worst because you expect to feel better but your body keeps saying "NO". I got very impatient at that point. I didn't want to wait to heal anymore. I got very sick and tired of being sick and tired. Don't be too hard on yourself. It does get better.

So Sleepy...

I'm two months post-op, and I still have occasional days when I feel that way. I also thought the one-month mark was the worst. My mind wanted my body to do more than my body could do, and there was still a lot of healing that needed to happen. It's frustrating, but continue to while you can.

So Sleepy...

I am four weeks today and if I'm up on my feet for 1-2 hours, I feel done for the day. I think it's terrible, but I think our bodies just have so much work already with the healing that the energy reserve gets zapped. I think it's important to gradually become more and more active to rebuild your stamina but to also listen to your body and rest when you need to.

So Sleepy...

I'm with you!! I just hit my five week mark today. I went for a 30 minute walk today and well, I needed a two hour nap afterwards. My belly aches and I don't feel like doing too much else. I can't wait to not be in pain, bored and more active!!

So Sleepy...

I am glad to hear I am not alone. My doctor said I could expect to be like that for a few more weeks but that it should be gradually better.

So Sleepy...

I did a few things over the weekend and I am so tired today. My body is also not ready to do the things my mind wants it to.
