Surgery June 12 What to Expect

Hi from Colorado. Just found your post. I had my lapro hysto on June 5th. I had huge fibroids, one the size of a melon on my bladder, then a whole bunch more. Oh fun, the pressure was intense. Then mass on ovary that was ominous. All turned out ok. No cancer. I had my surgeon take it all, even cervix. My recovery has been great so far. I mean there has been been pain, bloating, etc...but manageable with the narcotics. God Bless drugs for the right reasons

My nurses were great on the unit, very gentle, attending, etc. I was on the maternity unit, surgery bed. I had to call for one once in the middle of the night...she was right there!

What I've learned. If ya need the med, take the med. I work in psychology and see a lot of drug abue. I wanted to not reach for those Percocet, but you know what...I had MAJOR SURGERY, I need them. So hang up the house work, let signficant other fuss over you and take the meds. Here's to your recovery! Hug
