insurance/husband/grrrrr

just found out yesterday that my insurance co. has approved my hyst. I was worried, so it was a big relief. But also made it more real. (big gulp)

But the strange side benefit is the effect it's had on my husband. He's been complaining the whole time, and questioning whether I "really" needed the surgery. But now that the insurance co. has approved, he suddenly sees the light.

My opinion wasn't good enough. Not even my drs opinion was good enough (money-grubber, my husband thinks). But now that a large corporation has given it's opinion, well, then it must be okay.

Men!

Men! Isn't it interesting how differently they think than women?

Good luck

Some husbands are great (mine is fab) but for those who don't quite get it I think they should make them watch the surgery from an observation area. Especially TAH, or maybe we can find a video for them to watch. Of course just watching might put them out of commission longer than our recovery.

Insurance/husbands

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with insurance "johnny come lately" problems. My pre-certification was "completed" on 7/19, but no work was done at Insurance. Co. to process the pre-cert. When I called Insurance today to verify the pre-cert., there was no "record" of my surgery.

The person I talked to said they were "running behind, and to call next Friday." I truly hope they get their act together by then, as that will be one week prior to surgery, and I'd like not to worry about that detail.

My husband is in denial, and doesn't want to hear about anything. (Maybe then it won't happen.) So, I spend alot of time here to "get ready," since until he drives me to the castle, it's a non-event for him.
