4 wks post op and started to bleed both from wound and downstairs :(

I'm 4 weeks post op after having an abdominal hysterectomy and have started to bleed both from down below and from my wound. I dont feel good and feel i'm goin backwards instead of forward!! I'm more worried bout the bleed from down below. Its not heavy but is there when I wipe and its fresh red blood Anyone else had this??

I think it would be wise to check with your doctor about this.

Hello Michelle,

I had an LAVH on Oct 9 and I to am bleeding red. Like you when I wipe and I do need to wear pantyliners all day. I've called my doctor and have been told this can happen. This started around 2 weeks post op. I have my exam post op appt this Friday. I'm interested to see if I'm bleeding due to not healing or if this is truly normal. Please let me know what your doctor says. I know how you feel. Trying to get back to normal and this bleeding is really bumming me out. I also have to get back to work next Monday so anxious to have some resolution soon.

Take care and let us know what your dr has to say.

Since it started up sort of late, I'd call the doc. New bleeding can mean "overdoing," but you should really check with doc.

Good for you for taking care of yourself! I hate antibiotics too. I'm sure you already know, but taking them with food can help some of the side effects.
