tvh-cystocele, still experiencing discomfort

Good Morning: I do not see any postings for our week so I am starting a new thread. I am so upset, I went for my 7 week checkup (late 6 weeks) as I cancelled the 6 since my knees were so painful I could not do the stairs twice that week (dentist appt). 18 stairs here and very difficult some days, along with post-surgical discomfort still. My gynecologist is a good doctor with a fine reputation with offices in two hospitals. He, however; has a bedside manner lacking. He is often rushed and does not take the time I would like, but hang in there as he is definitely a good doctor and surgeon. I had my tvh-cystocele on June 11th. I have felt like my bladder prolapsed the last 4 weeks, and went in after 4 weeks and he said all was ok. Since I was feeling a lump down there again and always concious I had a vagina, if you understand what I mean, tightness, dryness, aching, and a lot of discomfort after going potty by my lower bowel area or rectum. I had that for a few months before surgery and even prior to that as i think ti was a warning something was wrong and the uterus and bladder were prolapsing. I pretty much felt it might be my irritable bowel syndrome and hemmroids or symptons of straining to go potty very often, One night I felt my bladder down there and freaked, call the gyne and got an appointment a few days later. When he told me what it was I scheduled the surgery, he had me use estrogen cream for 8 weeks to get the tissues ready as was in menopause for several years (started early)...I had bad discomfort in my lower back and butt area the whole time. When mentioned it a few times the gyne said he did not understand why I had that. The nurse, however; felt it was normal for the bladder and uterus prolapse. HAS ANYONE HAD THAT PRIOR TO THEIR SURGERY IF THEY HAD A UTERUS AND BLADDER PROLPASE? ( not yelling here)... Again a few weeks later I asked again and the gyne said, yes, that is understandable, my fiance' was in the office with me that time. In all the 7 weeks since surgery I had that discomfort, much better, but still there, slowly getting better. I am sure it is from the surgery, but now I go in yesterday and he tells me No, he was no where by my rectum. MMMMMMMMMMMM I say, I had picked up my pre surgical and actual surgical verbage report and it indeed says that they did some work there during surgery....(mind you I tell him, not faulting you or saying you did anything wrong, just want to make sure it is normal what I am feeling.)? he again insists he was no where there and asks me Who is "they" well, I was so nervous and I meant him and the other gynecologial surgeon who operated on me...he says "Me" yes I say. Such a bunch of bs, I was so upset and he was pretty much telling me I should not have pain there and that he touched nothing...I again reminded him of the report and he said, if it is in my report I would like to see it. THIS is what the line in my report says girls "The bladder was dissected off anteriorly and THE RECTUM was dissected off posterorly using blunt dissection"....of course I did not have the report there, however; sure he had it in hs file but did not offer to get the file and look to see what I meant....I did when I got home last night...livid at how he was dismissing my ailment and insisting he did not touch that area...More then once I said, you had to do what you had to do for my surgery and I am not faulting you, just wanting to validate how I feel...He kept saying he was only in my vagina, also he said you are not 20 anymore (ya, of course I know that) has nothing to do with how I feel. and that everything looks good, he used some sort of electronic lense with something small in me to view my vaginal area, I had told him i was so uncomfortable, burning and tight inside....So, he tells me to Allow myself to relax and forget I have complaints and that I had surgery and will get better. Many times he said I should not have any discomfort now, which really made me mad. I felt intimidated....I have so much pain from my joints I was not asking to have pain....He also said ALLOW yourself to feel good and move on...bs....Well want to know what everyone thinks. i did call the gyne nurse who was in there during part of the exam and let her know I felt about that visit....she knew what I meant as she has a lot of female issues, even though she is a young girl and we have a good relationship....she understood how I felt and what I felt why doesn't the doctor? One other important point....I asked him, doesn't any other women who have had these procedures complain about this type of discomfort...? no he said...Thanks, sorry this is so long, had to vent...up all night thinking about it....Actually feeling a bit better today and I do feel better every day but do not want to be ignored when I want to be heard...JJS-tvh-cystocele-June 11th

You should of told your DR. " You have a report right, lets go over it together." It sounds to me like he has everything landing on deaf ears. Maybe other woman hasn't complained of this problem, as he said, because he also wasn't listening to them either. I would find another Dr. that listens.

I did, I told him I picked up my report and that I had it at home....When he said if that was written in there, he would like to see it, well its going in the mail today.....he was already rushed and apologized as he came in to the examining room saying "sorry you had to wait", the good person I am said, ( 1 1/2 hr. wait) thats ok, I know you were not in for two days. The nurse had told me he was really booked as he was not in for two days seeing patients. He does a lot of surgery and double and triple books patients. The office was full, woman sitting outside in the hall .....used to it, not liking it, however; he is a good doctor and they are hard to find....I had a excellent internist for 13 years who stopped his private practice and was doing emergency medicine and now is in Canada semi-retired. I looked for two years to find someone I could live with and finally decided on this one I have now and I literally TOLERATE him. First three visits I waited 3 hours for him....so 1 1/2 seemed better.

The nurses are great and always talk when you call, they even call back to see how I feel. That is a big thing for me and my S/O says again, just now, would you rather have an excellent gyne-surgeon that has coffee with you or one who is good.

But you are right, if it is not acceptable, it is up to me to change.

I need some feedback on others who have had this same surgery and hope to find it.

Take care of yourself...

tvh-cystocele, still experiencing discomfort

I honestly haven't felt any pain there but I really haven't felt any pain after my surgery. My thing was the nausea but I understand about the dr thing. I went in for my 6 wk check up and had no vag exam done and pretty much said that I should be fine and to get the gall bladder surgery. That was it I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I told them to get a ua to make sure my infection was completely gone but of course haven't heard from them. The nurses suck. I haven't had any leaking or anything. I have been feeling better today after the food poisoning. I got your message but my box was full and I'm trying to figure out how to empty it. I'm sorry that you are having a hard time and hope you feel better.

So it was food posioning from Pizza Hut, right, have you called them? that is terrible.

I did not know you had no pain, but do remember the nausea...The nurses at my gyne are very good and one in particular I like a lot....you can empty your messages by going to the boxes at the right where there are check marks you can put in, either keep as unread, mark as read or delete, check delete (you scroll down for choices) and then they will be gone and the box will be open, let me know if you need more help, I will go in and do a step by step procedure for you...

hope you feel better, call Pizza Hut....you poor thing..

Hugs and Friendship

Joan
