Varicose veins on uterus

Has anyone else had or even heard of having varicose veins on your uterus? Turns out I had a ton of them and according to my doctor, extra blood vessels everywhere. Surgery took over 3 hours to get everything cleaned up in there.

I just wondered if anyone else had this and if surgery relieved all the problems. I think it will, can't imagine getting rid of all that extra stuff in there wouldn't, was hoping for some first hand experience in it.

Re: Varicose veins on uterus

I have heard of it but did not have it. Getting rid of the Endo, that I didn't know I had, and the fibroids has really helped me. As to the extra veins, I did have an extra Greater saphenous vein in my left leg. They and the one in my right leg were enlarged and had caused several problems with my circulatory system. I had vein ablation surgeries to close them down and get rid of them. Perhaps the varicose veins were affecting your circulation also, besides taxing the organs they were taking blood from.

Re: Varicose veins on uterus

Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS) is a disorder of the veins in the pelvic region. There are other women on the site who have dealt with this issue so hopefully they will drop by soon! You can also do a site search for pelvic congestion syndrome and varicose veins to find their threads so you could read about their experiences. I believe we also have some information in our Resource Database that you can look through. Additionally, this link might be helpful: http://www.veindirectory.org/content...n-syndrome.asp

A hysterectomy can help with pain issues and symptoms from PCS but may not be a complete cure if any affected veins were not treated. From your post, it looks like your doctor tried to be thorough so hopefully you are good to go!

Wishing you well!
