little strings from incisions

I saw my doc (about 2 1/2 weeks Post op) and showed him two "stitches" that are protruding from one of my incisions. He said that yes, I have lots of internal stitches & no external ones. He said to leave them, that they will dissolve on their own. I thought it was pretty cool....

Please let me know what they say! I go in for my 6 week post op next week too! (even though it's only 5 weeks?) strange

I think my doc was surprised to see the little buggers sticking out from an otherwise healing incision, but he said he didn't want to try to take them out - and that I should leave them for now. If they don't dissolve in a few weeks, I guess I'll call back - but remember, I'm only 2 1/2 weeks post-op. I didn't think to ask how long it takes for them to actually dissolve.
