how long after TAH can I do Hot Yoga

I had a TAH and one ovary removed on June 12. My doctor says wait 1 month before returning to Hot Yoga. I want to go back now, but not even sure if a month is enough to wait. I don't know if my doctor realized that SunStone Hot Yoga is rigorous. I just feel my body craving the sweat, to raise my heartrate, and to be totally engaged is something. Anyone have experience with this? I've done regular yoga, but did not have the same benefits. The heat keeps sorness to a minimum, yet allows me to push as far as I can. I believe I would even be allowed to come to class and just do the breathing and then lie down to enjoy the benefits of the heat if needed.

Your doctor may not even know what it is.After your 4 weeks are up maybe practice 5 minutes of yoga at home and see if it causes discomfort or bleeding.swelling later. You can gradually build up your time with regular yoga and when your think your body is ready advance to the hot yoga.

Re: how long after TAH can I do Hot Yoga

I did a Bikram class at 5 weeks post op, it was great to get back and sweat. I moved in and out of all the poses very carefully and was surprised with what hurt and what was just fine. 85% was just fine. I had trouble transitioning on the floor and ended up staying in child's pose.

I'm 8 weeks and had a fabulous class, bow pose is tough on the incision sit ups and floor transitions are no problem.
