Scar Cream/Gel

Has anyone tried ScarFade or Mederma for their incision? Any success? Anything work better or any alternate suggestions?

My C-section scar faded so nicely on its own, but this scar feels a whole lot thicker...going to need some extra help I think.

Hi chewy22,
I haven't used any of those products but I just wanted to agree with you on the fact that the c-section scar is a lot different and so far all I have used is regular lotion. It is fading pretty well inspite of it.
Take care,
Debbie

I had a 1/2 inch c- section scar. MY Dr. cut along it and took it out and made a much neater and thinner cut.(Free tummy tuck- not really- my tummy needs more than a half inch taken out) It was totally closed at one week. It is a light pink color now. I am well pleased with it. I wouldn't put any cream on the incision if its not healed but if its totally closed there shouldn't be a problem. I just make sure my whole stomach area is well lubed after my shower. I have all kinds of lotions and potions. My favorite is one with cocoa butter, it is real thick and smells like chocolate. Cath

I had a fall last year resulting in a cut on my eyelid which required stitches. After it had healed it was still quite red. I asked the pharmacist about fading creams and she said she wouldn't waste my money by selling me any. She recommended using my normal moisturiser for my face and said to let time heal it properly. After one year (next week) I can honestly it is not noticable at all, and it hasn't been visible for some months now. I see it ocasionlly in the lighted mirror when applying make up. I know this was a much smaller cut (about 1 inch) but it was really unpleasant. I would suggest that a normal moisturiser once healing is complete would be just as good.

Just started using Mederma. My Dr recommended it to me. Am applying Mederma at night and using Cica Care during the day. My C-section scar is healing well just a little dark. Hopefully it will fade with this application over time. Will let you ladies know if it does!!!
