Totally confused!

During my 5th week checkup I thought my doctor said as long as I feel some discharge it means I still have stitches that have not dissolved. Doctor said i had a couple of stitches not yet dissolved. She said wait two weeks. As I am now 8 weeks I called the doctor and of course spoke with the nurse, informing her I still have a slight clear discharge and perhaps undisolved stitches. She said a discharge has nothing to do with the stitches so I could have sex and take my baths.

Re: Totally confused!

As far as discharge goes, i didnt have any that far out, but i can tell you the cuff sutures can stay in a long time!! I was released for all activity, including sex and baths, at 6 weeks and still had most sutures intact! (I still had stitches at 5 mos, but that is not normal and a whole different story!!). Can you speak with dr yourself and confirm? Worth it just for peace of mind. And i have always heard it is not unusual to have drainage when sutures are dissolving.

Re: Totally confused!

Clear discharge could just be normal vaginal fluid...

Can you get an appt to have your Dr. check?
