May 25th Princess Finally Home!!

Hello HysterSisters,

I am finally home. I had a little extended stay at the hospital due to nausea and vomitting, and blood loss. Yuck I am so glad that is over. I was going in for a TAh but ended up loosing my left ovary as well. I had severe endometrosis and the left ovary was brownish-blueish in nature, and was attached to my colon and abdomin. It was swollen and had to be removed before he could do anything else. The Dr was able to save my right ovary, it looked healthy he said. I also lost 800 ml of blood due to complications in the surgery. I am so glad that I didn't get a blood transfusion. That was one of my concerns before I went in. I have been home for a full day now and I am slowly making my way around. I find it hard to get comfortable in any position. But I am managing. My DH has been very good to me. I must say that I am so glad I am on the recovery side of this and no longer waiting. I must say the waiting is hard. I must admit it is very hard to just sit around, lay around, and not do much. There are only so much tv I can handle. So, I must take care of myself and continue to allow myself to lay around for a couple of weeks. Thanks so much for all the support ladies. I am a newly punctured and I am so glad that I am home. Blessings to all of you. s

Michelle

May 25th Princess Finally Home!!

HI Michelle,
Glad to hear you are home and on the way to recovery. I understand about the laying around and doing nothing. Prior to my surgery I watched VERY little television. So sitting around watching TV now is driving me nuts.
You are right to take it easy though, slow and steady. Every day you will feel a little bit better and be able to be more comfortable. Don't over do it and end up taking steps back.
Wishing you an uneventful recovery.

Hi Michelle,

Sorry to hear it all was a trial, but you are not alone.
I too had some unexpected complications and ended up with a TAH instead of TVH, lost the left ovary and had bowel adhesions - none of that was exptected or wanted. Came home for one day and was back in emergency with an infection which had me on iv drugs for another 6 days.

Anyway, home now for a week and feeling pretty good. Hope things are looking up for you too.

Take it slow and look after yourself - I know I intend to - I'm not going back to the castle if I can help it.
