You are talking about a pretty minimal amount of weight loss, in fact something that could probably be achieved by stepping up your activity slightly while cutting maybe 100 calories per day.. the equivalent of having your morning toast without butter. You have over two months to reach your goal, which is very reasonable.
I personally think that, provided you feel you could stand to lose 5-10 pounds, you have plenty of time to achieve the weight loss healthfully. That's really the key -- don't try to lose all the weight in just a week or two.
Checking with your is a great idea, as he/she might have some suggestions based on your particular situation.
