Re: weak urinating stream?

im hoping its all a normal process of this pain in the neck recovery, but i would just feel better hearing it from dr.. so many girls on here are doing amazing at 3 weeks after lsh and i need the assurance i havent got something wrong going on i reckon..family and friends keep saying i am being impatient, major surgery, blah blah blah! i see girls on here ready to freaking excercise in no time, and i am a mess if i do hardly anything!! just so aggravating...hugs!

Re: weak urinating stream?

@nervousascanbe,

I planon doing nothing for the next 6-8 weeks that doesn't make me feel great or promote healing. I plan on napping as much as I want, taking as much pain meds as perscribed and not lifting a finge if I can help it. I stared taking short walks inside the house and starting tomorrow plan on taking slightly longer walks outside.

I truly beleieve the pamper the princess is the right way to go.

peeing is not like it was but will give it a few months to see if it returns to normal - right now it isn't painful just odd.

Do you have pain meds to take until your doctor will see you?

Re: weak urinating stream?

I am 11 days post-op after a TVH/anterior repair and have a really weak stream too. I feel like I go a little and then I have to sit there and then I'll go a little more. It's a really weird feeling. I haven't called the doctor yet but I'm glad I'm not alone. I feel like I'm not emptying my bladder all the way which can't be a good thing. I am also anemic and on iron and feel constipated/bloated but other than that my recovery is going well. I go back to work next Monday part-time and will be 17 days post-op. I hope I'll be ready!

When do ya'll go back for your post-op visit? My doctor wants to see my at 6 weeks. I think that is way too long! When did your doctor say it was OK to drive? I haven't tried yet...

Keep me posted on how ya'll are doing. I am so glad I found this website!

Re: weak urinating stream?

tks ladies..i guess it helps knowing im not the only one with weird symptoms!
my post op was supposed to be next week at 4 weeks, but with feeling like i have had a setback, i insisted on seeing him sooner..
nope, no pain meds left..and would be suprised if he gave me more thurs. he is kinda stingy on them..well i do have motrin 600's, but not taking away these shooting pains!
ive been back to work (desk job) but said heck with it today after about 3 hours. on way to take a nap!!
hugs to all!!!

Re: weak urinating stream?

I am 2 weeks post op today and I have just had the catheter romoved for the 3rd time.... my bladder had shut down b/c of trauma during surgery, the 1st 2 times they removed it I could not go more than like 5-10 dribbles... so they had to put back in both times... I am still not going as much as usual, weak stream, and my doctor wanted to re-insert the catheter and I refused... so I have to go every 2 hours and measure the amount that comes out... slowly the stream is still weak but I am going more each time... make sure to drink lots of water... I am drinking 2 litres of water a day plus tea and orange juice...hope this helps.
