breast soreness 1 year and 7 months later

Hello fellow sisters!!! Its been so long since I have been to the boards.. but I had a question and here was the first place I thought to go for answers.. I had my hysterectomy in May of 2005.. They left my right ovary in.. My question is could having that one little ovary still there cause tremendous breast soreness?? They hurt to the point of when I try to sleep on my stomach they hurt.. when I walk briskly down stairs they hurt with just the slightest jiggle... to brush my arms against them hurts.. Is this all from that one little ovary causing PMS symptoms?? <oops! please keep information on the public site!>
Thanks so much ladies!!! Merry Christmas to you all!!!

Sounds like PMS to me! I have both of my ovaries, but one ovary should produce enough hormones to supply your needs. Thus, it can cause you some PMS!

I have breast tenderness that can be very painful as you described. Walking up and down the stairs can be very miserable and I live in a two story house with my bedroom upstairs!

I have talked to my GYN about it and he has suggested natural progesterone cream. However, because of my migraines, I am having to wait a bit so I can't tell you from personal experience if it works.

For me, my doctor feels I am sensetive to the estrogen and that at times I have estrogen dominance causing the extreme tenderness, swelling, and pain. And yes, the slightest touch can be miserable.

Talk to your doctor, either your GYN or GP. Find out what options are available for you!

Best wishes to you!

Hi Denise,

I am 2 1/2 yrs. post-op and I kept my ovaries. I still get breast tenderness with PMS. I had a well-check mammogram in November and I was kind of starting to freak myself out waiting for the results thinking...wow...what if something is wrong with my breasts and the tenderness I get?? Well...everything came back normal. So now I don't have to worry about that.

All I can say is the breast tenderness can be a nuisance and it just tells me my ~little O's ~ are still working.

Sending best wishes~

Mary

Thank you both so much for the replies!!! I feel better knowing it most likely is PMS even though it is a pain!!
