4 weeks post hysterectomy: Worried about sex - follow up appointment not for another 2.5 months

I'm 4 weeks post op... feeling ok.
Worrying about sex, we won't be doing anything until the 6 week mark.but I'm worrying about it.my follow up appointment is not until Feb 2nd which is ages away. I had my cervix removed.
I've had no bleeding or spotting at all since leaving hospital.

As with just about anything, do seek your doctor's approval. I'm a bit surprised that he's not going to examine you for proper healing beforehand. If you have a vaginal cuff (you don't mention the type of surgery you had), that needs to be healed well enough.

Not sure what your concerns might be, but there are a number of articles about resuming sex post-op. My own experience at 6 weeks is that it wasn't fireworks and rainbows the first time: we were both hesitant, he was concerned about hurting me and I don't think I achieved orgasm... it was more just seeing if all the parts worked! (They did ) I felt burning and itching afterwards, and that was likely due to vaginal dryness, even though I retained my ovaries and thought I was self-lubed enough. Since then, we've used lubrication as part of foreplay and I've not had that issue.

Most important thing is to take it slow, gentle... and don't feel pressured. Do the foreplay to get in the mood, and set the atmosphere. Talk to your love beforehand, even he might be concerned as my guy was. Some guidance to help you can be found at Resuming Intimacy and Do This, Not That - Intimacy.

Continue to rest well, and try not to fret!
