I'm crying too much!
I don't know what is wrong with me...I feel overwhelmed and now I'm just crying all day and feeling awful. I am scared...I'm really scared!
I can't take anything for anxiety and/or depression, so calling my doctor wouldn't help. I've got RLS and any anti-anxiety or depression meds ust aggrevaite the symptoms for me, so I'd just end up with no sleep if I tried those.
What is wrong with me??? Why am I freaking out? I've got a week and 2 days to go and I'm losing my mind!

I'm crying too much!
Rita,
I'm so sorry that you are feeling this way, but it's not unusual to be scared of surgery, and a hysterectomy is major surgery. Your hormones may also be messed up, which could be contributing to the weepiness.
Since you can't take any anti-anxiety meds, have you thought about getting some relaxation tapes? Or seeing if you can find a therapeutic hypnotist?
I know you said calling your doctor won't help, but they may have some other ideas that will help. If it is hormone-related, maybe there is something that your doctor can suggest that will help.
The waiting part really is the worst part for most of us. I hope that will be true for you, too. Please let us know how you are.

I'm crying too much!
Hi Rita--
I'm so sorry you are having such a difficult time. I know you are scared and I know this is an anxious time. There is nothing wrong with you----you are facing surgery and that causes anxiety for any of us. Is there something you like to do that is peaceful and makes you relax? A hot bubble bath, listening to soothing music, talking to a good friend?
Keep in mind that there are so many thousands of women who have gone through this and came through much better than they expected. Take some deep breaths and calm yourself down. You are going to do just fine.
Lot of s to you.

I'm crying too much!
I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad. This may sound lame, but what really helps me is massage. I go to a massage therapist once in awhile, and since I found out my date I've been going more often. It is more beneficial to me than any medication I've taken. I get an hour long full body swedish massage, and walk out feeling on top of the world. You should try it. Just think, fussybird, a whole hour just relaxing and letting someone pamper you and make you feel terrific. You deserve it. One suggestion: I would make sure to request a female therapist. I've been to male ones, and it just isn't as easy to completely relax. Also, a mature female massage therapist will go out of her way to pamper you if you decide to share your story with her.
BIG HUGS to you!
