Phenomenal Source of Questions to Ask Pre-Op

I was just browsing at the Post-Op board and what some of the princesses are going through, which after reading, has prompted me to make a formal list of questions to ask my doctor at my pre-op appointment.

They have a wealth of information over there.

Another place to find questions to ask your doctor is in the Hystersisters PreOp Checkpoints.

https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/view_preop.htm

Scroll down a bit and you'll find a list of 20 questions.

Phenomenal Source of Questions to Ask Pre-Op

I went to my Pre-Op appointment with the printed list of questions from this site and a pen in hand. Boy was I nervous! If I hadn't had this list to keep me on track, I would have sat there and just cried... waaah!

(As it was, I forgot to ask about a bladder lift (tack) while in there.)
He did smile at my list and was very patient with me. Told me that if I had any more questions to call him. He was always in the office - if not - he would be back with me soon...and I am calling him tomorrow with the forgotten question.

All in all, I would recommend taking the list.

Mine is today, but I feel I have asked all the questiones I could have possibly asked already. All my questions will be regarding the anesthesia procedure.

DOES anyone know how long the pre-op takes, and what they do? I also have my pre-admission apt followed directly after.

Phenomenal Source of Questions to Ask Pre-Op

Hi
I had my pre op Tuesday for surgery the 26th. The pre op for me was just going over test results and questions and instruction, I didnt have to get naked this time, woo hoo! For my first time going to the hospital I had to talk to and wait for 3 different people, insurance, pre register and the nurse for test. That took about an hour. The pre op visit itself was probably 1/2 once I actually saw the doctor.

Good luck

Wow I just noticed we are having surgery on the same day. What time do you go in. I found out when I called a few weeks ago about my prop time, that surgery was at 6am. Yowza!
