Do headaches go away?

Hi Ladies!

I was wondering, I ALWAYS get migrains with my period...usually before, during and after. With a hysterectomy, will that help with my migrains?

Do headaches go away?

I had the same problem pre- hysterectomy. I had a bad migraine a week before, one week afterwards, and the mildest one a month later - about the time of my period. Since then - NOTHING! What a great relief! I don't know if everyone experiences this - hope you do! Best of luck.

Do headaches go away?

I read with great interest all posts regarding migraine! I had years and years of excruciating migraine pain....from many different triggers, but the harshest ones were considered menstrual migraine. Just before, during, after and at the two-week mid-point of my cycle.

I had both ovaries taken and it has been a huge relief for me and for my family. No more menstrual migraines AND an added bonus, the other ones from other triggers are more mild and respond to my meds! Yea! There is life after constant migraine pain.

I opted not to use HRT since I couldn't see why I would want to introduce more hormones to my system when that's what my doctor and I thought was making the migraines so intense. I was nearly 48 and had been experiencing some menopausal symptoms anyway, so my body has not suffered the usual shock of surgical menopause.

I wish you as much relief!

Do headaches go away?

I have had migraines as long as I remember even as a child. They had gotten worse over the last year and a half. My doctor found that my trigger was the weather and the pressure outside.I have read that they can be cause due to menapause also and he told me they would go away after it was over if this was what caused them. I had my LAVH on the 15th and a migraine on the 17th due to the changing weather here. I am hoping that they go away but have my doubts. I am not taking HRT at this time to see if this helps remove them from my life.
