Hematoma?

Hi,

After surgery I had a fever for quite some time, aometimes now still low grade fever. In hospital the dr said I probably had a hematoma and this was how your nody reacts. He said I might have an increase in bleeding around day 10 post op. I never had that. But now three weeks post op I am experiencing alot of bloating which I did not have earlier. I am not feeling completely well, not very sick either, but just not right. My stomach is very crampy, but it is quite high and also quite alot of back pain. I hav had chills, like a goose bumos as well ( also on my head, itis driving me crazy).

I should be ovulating around now, can this cause the increase in pain and stuff....or is the hematoma playing up? The bloating has me a little worried, or do you not get bloated from a hematoma?

I will call my GP tomorrow, but just wondering if anyone experienced the same issues?

Re: Hematoma?

BurnedOut -

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing issues.

I did not have an experience with a hematoma but you can use the search feature to find other threads on that topic.

I believe that hematomas can bleed for a bit. It does sound like a call to the Dr. is in order especially with the chills.

Re: Hematoma?

HI --
I had a hematoma and internal bleeding after my surgery - hematoma was removed the night after I came home from m LAVH. The pain I had with the hematoma exceeded any pain I had ever felt before. I also felt really really sick - similiar to bad flu/strep - like I was hit by a truck. I felt faint - extremely weak (hard to stand - when standing, hard to keep my head upright). I would definitely call your doctor- or if you start feeling weak/fainting (I fainted 3 times in a row) get to the ER immediately. Hugs!!!

my instructions where call, or over the weekend go to the ER if I:
had any vomiting
experienced heavy bleeding
or a fever over 101.0

That was what I was told. But just like you sister, and I went in 12-14, at one day before my 2 week mark (would that be considered week 3 or just 2 )I felt so good that I went out at day 12 and pushed a buggy at Wally World but I've read a lot of us recovering princesses do that. we feel so well that we overdo it.
anyway I had major lower back pain and then a day or two later started cramping really bad, like the worst FLO cramps I have ever had. (and I have not had any children.)
So I have read and am understanding that pain lower back and lower abdominal is pretty much standard for recovery for everyone. I kinda feel like my body is getting ready for (as a friend of mine calls it) The RED monster to visit. Ha No more!! For EV AH!!!
Just remember, keep ya feet up, your Pajamas on and
for God's sake
Pamper the Princess!!!
