Any other 4 month post ops out there?
Hi All,
I am almost at the 4 month date and just thought I'd share how I've been doing.
For the most part I am feeling well. My hemoglobin is normal (finally!) so my engery level is better. My abdomen only hurts if I do something silly - like jump up and down and I think running would be out of the question. I still experience fatigue, but I am working full-time and attending college full-time (19 credits this semester), so I think the fatigue is normal. I don't have any problem sleeping at night. Haven't had sex - so can't report on that. I do have desire so.... I guess everything is working okay. Don't have any bladder or bowel issues - thank goodness!
The only major downer is that I've gained 20 pounds since my surgery. I had lost 30 prior to surgery and have regained all but 10. Maybe after this semester ends and I have more time, I'll be able to work on that.
Hope all of the others hitting the four month mark are doing well.

Any other 4 month post ops out there?
Greetings!
I had my LAVH on 1/17/05. I had complications post op and needed emergency bowl obstruction surgery 9 days after my hyst.
I am doing great now. I ride my bicycle about 15 miles at least 3-4 times per week. I walk my dogs 3 miles ever other day (large strong dogs) and I just began tennis (which I am HORRIBLE at) but I feel great and am finally thrilled I had the surgery. I don't miss bleeding and the bloating feeling that came along with it and I laugh every time I go by a femine protection isle now!

Any other 4 month post ops out there?
Hi- I'm four months too and having a bad time. I'm in constant pain that shifts from side to side--mostly it's pinching pain but sometimes it's more like stabbing, and the swelly belly still at night.
I saw my doc last week and she said everything inside looks good (she took everything out) and I should take more painkillers and see my internist. She said my pains are "muscle spasms".
I'm calling my internist tomorrow- I can't live like this.
Any advice would be helpful. I'm also having muscle cramps in my legs. (I'm a teacher and went back to work at 5 weeks).
Argh!!!

I am almost 4 mos. post-op TAH/BSO, am feeling pretty well. I am having a hard time with hot flashes and night sweats, also fatigue. I still have some slight incisional discomfort and numbness. I am back to work, although I am sore afterwards,(12 hour night shifts). I am going to be starting Estrace for the hot flashes. I can't believe it's been almost 4 mos.!

Any other 4 month post ops out there?
I will be 4 months post op on May 3...and I feel great! I had felt bad for several years before this surgery, so just about anything would have been an improvement. I have to say though that I feel wonderful and am so glad that I had the hysterectomy. The hardest part for me has been getting the hormone replacement meds tweeked, but I think I just about have that done. Now that I finally have some energy, after years of feeling like getting out of bed was a major chore, I am exercising regularly and have lost 15 pounds. Still have about 30 pounds to go, but I feel that I can accomplish that goal in time.
