Incision still draining at 7 weeks

I'm 7 weeks out. Hematoma discovered at about 3 1/2 weeks. Incision popped open above hematoma at 5 1/2 weeks, then the doctor cut it open a bit more. It was infected and draining a yellwish brown fluid. Took 7 days of an antibiotic, saw the doctor at 6 1/2 weeks and she said the infection was gone. I asked her about the hematoma and she said it was just the swelling from the surgery, and the infection was gone. I thought I must have misunderstood her, but later my husband agreed that was what she said. The draining never included any blood except a little spot of 2 when the skin broke open. It is still draining now, 10 days after it opened, and 3 days after fininshing the antibiotic. The drainage is still yellowish brown, with thicker pus, stinky and stinky, yet the doctor said the infection was gone. Why is it still draining? Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks so much!

Re: Incision still draining at 7 weeks

Ashar,

I am sorry you are still having problems.

I would give the a call. Having a stinky, draining discharge cannot be very pleasant. I would call. Perhaps the antibiotics were not strong enough? Either way, I am sure they can give you some tips on what to do.
