Packing discharge at 7 day-

I had packing with TVH. It was like the magician removing magic scarves when she pulled it out. It just went on and on and on. WAY more than 18 inches. More like 18 yards of it. It's possible not everyone has it, or that it's removed earlier on when you're still too woozy to remember.

I can't believe this coincidence! I just got on here to tell a story about my vaginal packing, and saw this post.

I had my six week check-up today and told the doctor that I was still having a lot of swelly belly, aching and soreness. In addition, the last week or so I've had a foul smelling discharge, but no fever. When he did the pelvic exam, he found that ALL of the packing had been left in (for 6 weeks -- yikes!). He said that it should have been removed before I left the hospital. It felt as if he pulled out several feet of something!

Fortunately, he said I have no infection, but there is redness and irritation, so he sent me home with an antibiotic. I'm amazed that it hadn't started to fall out or cause much worse pain. I feel very lucky that the consequences of this error were mild.

I had a lot of packing too,seems like 50 ft.lol...It all came out the morning after.That was the first thing the Dr aksed when she came in was did they remove your packing?

I WISH my doctor had asked me whether the packing had been removed. I didn't even know it was in there!

Asley103, you took the words right outa my mouth! Thats how I felt too.Those were the exact words I used to tell about my packing coming out.I wondered what was going to be on the end of it!!!!!!! -Marsha
