Endo and Pain

I am scheduled for a TAH and BSO for July 1st due to endo, ovarian cysts and fibroids and can't wait. I have been taking Percoset around the clock since 5/21. I believe the endo is around my bowel now, because each day the pain is getting worse and I am having severe bowel problems. (Lots of pulling, tugging, cramping plus the original pelvic pain.) Can someone please tell me how soon after surgery I should feel better. Does the endo pain go away immediately? Any hints to make the next 5 days bearable? I can't image that the pain from surgery is any worse than this. Thanks!

While I'm sorry that you have been in such pain and are facing surgery, I am glad that you found HS and posted to introduce yourself. I didn't have my hyst due to endo, so I can't answer you from personal experience, but I can say that my after-surgery pain was well managed with a morphine drip for the first 24 hours, and then with Percocet for a day or two and then Darvocet for another week or so.

Have you let your doctor know how much pain you are in right now? There may be something else that he can prescribe that will help get you through the next few days. I hope that you will have relief very soon after your surgery.
