oOPS - what shal Iask my surgeon
I PUSHED SOMETHING AND HADN'T FINISHED. The pain keeps me awake at nighT and/or wakes me in the morning. It's worse than pre op!
i'm taking varying degrees of pain medication. i was admitted to hospital in March for six days and put on morphine to get it under control. had x rays, scans but not an mri. They found I had a UTI and candida infection.i've had shingles too!!
I have an appt with my surgeon on Tuesday. What tests if any should I ask him to do? I am also being referred to pain management clinic but somehow feel this is a cop out. any thoughts much appreciated.

Hi (((Sue)))) I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time
Could you explain the type of pain you're dealing with? This would help us help you As far as your question about CPP is concerned, I was wondering if this is something you've been diagnosed with? I've never seen that abbreviation before.
Sending tons of s your way. Please be sure to keep us posted.

Thanks
Sorry I am replying so much later but have been to bed and now it is Sunday morning in the UK.
First of all it feels SO great to talk to someone who understands. All my medics just stare at me with 'I have no idea why you are still having pain' expression. i feel as though they are going to give up on me!! Or I am just making it all up!!
The pain, well it pinches basically. It is lower left and moves. Sometimes being near and above navel and goes round to one side but rests lower left again. It is not the same pain as pre op ('broids) It is always there and gets worse at times. It also hurts when I urinate, deep down as I start to pass water and then again at the end. It's not the same pain as cystitis.
I sawe CPP on someone's posting and thought it was something you guys may refer to when talking about continued pelvic pain.
I have an appt with my gynae/surgeon guy on Tuesday and would like to know th esort of questions I should ask and tests he could undertake.
Thanks

Whats CPP? So much pain, any ideas?
Hi sue!
CPP stands for chronic pelvic pain....they use the term when dealing with basically long-term uncontrolled pain. My dr was mentioning that I am on the verge of CPP. I actually have 2 pains...one that really hurts (trapped nerve) feels like it is on the left side inbetween the belly button and the pelvis bone. But it turns out the real spot was central vaginal cuff, which the dr said was normal that the spot refers pain elsewhere. The other pain I have is an ache....basically because I have constant pain the pelvic muscles tense and go into spasms...which is where my pelvic physical therapist comes in. She is having me do kiegel exercises with emphasis on relaxing the muscles and breathing. At the end of each session she ends it with applying electro-stimulators and a big heating pad on my belly (which feels great).
Several years ago I went through the same thing as you as far as hurting and having dr after dr saying that they had no idea why I was hurting. Finally I found a great dr that wasn't going to just pass me off....he wanted to figure out why I was hurting....he was the one who finally found out that I had aheasions and endo...both problems didn't show up on any tests. I know that it is frustrating and angering that no dr will listen or help you. Keep going, don't give up....ask staff members at your local hospital who is the best gyn. Don't let them discourage you or tell you that you are making it up.
Good luck to you...I hope they figure it out soon.
