Question on post op sex
OK, I've been feeling really great after surgery and dh and I had sex for the first time about 7 weeks. It was really scary to say the least since I have read some of the posts about the vaginal cuff ripping. But it was really good . I had the silver nitrate done at 6 weeks and I had a really uncomfortable exam. It almost felt like a pinching sensation when he was looking up there. Well, when dh and I had sex I felt the same feeling. It wasn't painful but it felt like it was pinching up there. It almost felt maybe dry? We did use KY lubricant and alot of it because I am not on any HRT and heard about how dry it can get. Well, we had sex again and I felt the same type of pinching. I don"t quite know how to describe the feeling. It almost feels like I am tighter up there or maybe it is just to dry. I feel like there is a hardness up there that I never felt before. My dh said he felt nothing different. At my 6 week check up my doctor said everything looked great so I know there is not a lump or anything. Has anyone ever had this feeling and does if eventually go away. If it is just dryness up there is there something else I should use instead of KY? I go for another check next week after the silver nitrate and I really don't want to ask my doctor. I have never had this feeling before and have never been uncomfortable at an exam. Its really strange.

Question on post op sex
Hey, roadwarrier. I'm at 3 weeks post-op, so I haven't reached that milestone yet. But in the articles on this website, they do mention that when the vaginal cuff is healing that it is stiff. That may be what is causing the feeling of hardness and perhaps the pinching, too. Unfortunately, the only way for you to know for sure if to ask your dr. Maybe he can check for something else if he knows what you are feeling. Good luck, and I hope your recovery continues to go well.

Question on post op sex
I'll be 6 weeks P.O. in 2 weeks. I am looking forward to resuming intimacy with my DF, but scared. At my 2 week checkup DR. did an internal, said "looks good, see ya in a year".......Huh?, I had another appointment scheduled at 6 weeks, and thought I should cancel, (haven't done so yet) but I wonder if I should keep it, and "make" her examine the cuff, and give me the O.K. ???/
When I told her I had another appt. scheduled with her in a few weeks, she said "For........??"
Yikes!!!???

Question on post op sex
I've seen commercials for it yet don't remember what it's called, but I know that there is a lubricant that lasts for 3 days. I assume it's suppository form and would imagine most, if not all, pharmacies carry it. Might be worth a shot. I'm also going to second what pmart said about the vaginal cuff stiffness.
kat - I would definitely want to be seen at 6 weeks so I say go ahead and keep the appt. you already have.

Question on post op sex
Hi Roadwarrior, You had your surgery a day before me. I understand what you are describing, and felt a little of that pinchy feeling. I just know my Dr said to have DH try to avoid full entry initially, is that TMI?? Yeah it didnt really hurt, just felt different to me, although my Dh said , like yours, Nope felt same. ! Go figure.. Linda

Question on post op sex
We as women tend to not give men very much credit when it comes to emotions and sex, yet when I read these posts where we just know our vaginas have to feel differently to our SO's and are told that they can't tell any difference just shows me that they are just glad that we're ok and happy to be able to have the loving, physical connection back with us and they're not even paying attention to any possible differences.
Or am I just being naive?

Question on post op sex
I'm 11 weeks post op, and at 9 weeks hubby and I had sex for the first time since surgery. I also felt like something pinching on the inside, mostly on the sides. I also thought it was from the dryness, but even after using lubricant I can still feel the pinching. We've done it a couple of more times and still feel the same. And we both feel a difference it feels more tighter and smaller. I guess we need more time for it to stretch some. I have a doctors appt. next month so I'll be asking dr. about it then.

Question on post op sex
Hi, I have never 'talked' on one of these things before, so please forgive any 'wrong doing'! I am about 10 weeks past surgery, I feel bad for what a lot of you seem to be going through. After I got the cath out after the first week other than having a hard time sitting for a couple weeks and getting very tired trying to walk much, I'm great, I sleep well, in a good mood, I feel fine... except for sex.
It REALLY hurts. I agree with Diamante38, it does feel much smaller and tighter, but also (forgive me if this is TMI or incorrect ettiqutte) it is almost like there is something in the way, like there is a certain way he has to go in, a very small 'path'. I noticed one lady mentioned to be on top for control, tried that, not even an option at this point. I am ready to call the Dr. back, she said I looked great and will see me in a year, that everything was fine, I'm not so sure though. Anyone else have a problem like this?

Question on post op sex
I have just read the posts, thanks sisters. I feel so much better just knowing I am not alone in this. I thought maybe it was just me. But the description of being smaller and tighter is exactly the words I was looking for. And the description of the sides being pinched is also right on the money!! Does anyone have any idea if it can stretch out eventually? I am almost scared to ask! Its not that it hurts but it definitly feels different. And I would much rather have the feeling back that I had before surgery. As for the lubricant, I feel that we used way to much to begin with but it still feels like it is dry too. Did anyone else feel this pinching sensation when they had their 6 week check up? I have to go back next week to be checked again and frankly I am quite scared to have him insert the metal thing. If he says he has to do the silver nitrate I will scream. I really had a hard time with that. I was really in pain for about 2 hours.
